Geofence: Create, Edit, and Delete

Feature Overview

Geofences define operational area boundaries and can work together with alert strategies to trigger events such as enter or exit geofence alerts. You can create circular, polygon, or path-based geofences depending on platform support.

Create a Geofence

1. Open the geofence page and click "Create Geofence".
2. Choose the geofence type and draw the area on the map, or set parameters according to the page prompt.
3. Enter the geofence name and any required description.
4. Save and return to the list. You can then review the geofence display on the map.

Edit and Delete

• Edit: open a geofence from the list, adjust its range or information, and save.
• Delete: confirm that the geofence is no longer needed before deleting it, so existing alert strategies are not affected.

Recommendations

• Use geofence names with clear business meaning such as area, project, or purpose so they are easy to pick later when configuring strategies.
• Make the geofence slightly larger than the actual business boundary to reduce false alerts caused by positioning error.

FAQ

Q: Why can't I create or save a geofence?
A: The account may be read-only, or the geofence name may be empty. Check whether the button is clickable and whether the name has been filled in.
