Why are some menus missing after login

In most cases this is related to permission scope. Different roles seeing different features is normal platform behavior.

Why can't I see devices on the map or why is location not updating

This is usually related to device status, selected time range, active filters, or the current map view.

What should I do when an alert has no coordinates

When an alert does not contain a valid position, continue checking with tracks or device status.
